Thirty years of notice and scrutiny work behind every filing
Most tax practices file returns. The part that separates them is what happens when a return is questioned — a faceless assessment decided on a written submission, an appeal to the Commissioner within thirty days, a reopening under section 148. That work is what Sanjay Pathak built the firm on, and it is why filings are prepared with the question in mind.
How to check: Ask about a notice you have received. You will get a view on what the section actually requires, not an offer to book a call.
You never file it yourself
This is not software with a help desk attached. You send documents; our staff prepare and file. If something in your papers does not add up you get a question from a person, not a validation error you have to interpret.
How to check: Nothing in the process asks you to open the income tax utility. If it did, that would be visible immediately.
A named person, whose name is on your file
Every engagement is assigned, and the assignment is visible in the portal. Calling a general line and re-explaining your situation to whoever answers is the specific experience this is built to avoid.
How to check: Open your account. The name is on the engagement.
The price is fixed before the work starts
We do not publish prices because the honest price depends on what your return actually involves. What we do instead is quote your case before anything begins, and not move it afterwards. No upgrade halfway through and no bill larger than the estimate.
How to check: The quote states what is included and what is not, in writing, before you accept.
Your documents are handled properly
Uploads go straight to private encrypted storage through a signed link; the storage key never reaches the browser. Download links expire within five minutes, sessions live in cookies JavaScript cannot read, and access is limited to the people working on your file.
How to check: The security page sets out the mechanism rather than the adjectives.
The site works when the systems do not
Every page on this site is static and every route to reach us degrades to WhatsApp. If our API is down the contact form still puts your enquiry in front of us, with everything you typed already composed into the message.
How to check: The form tells you when it could not reach the server, and hands you a working WhatsApp link with your answers in it.
And what we will not claim
Pathak Associates is a tax consultancy — Sanjay Pathak's proprietorship, not a firm of chartered accountants. Work that requires a CA is carried out by the chartered accountants we employ and partner with. The title is a regulated one, so we say which we are.
We also will not claim that a return we file can never draw a notice. Notices arrive on correct returns. What we will say is that the commonest triggers — an AIS mismatch, a wrong form, an unclaimed TDS credit — are checked before filing rather than after.
And if your return is genuinely one Form 16 and a savings account, we will tell you a self-service portal will do it correctly and cost less. A practice that tells everyone they need help is not one worth trusting on the cases where they do.
